Karin MayDr. Tobias Hueck

Dr Tobias Hueck advises family businesses, entrepreneurial families and family offices on complex ownership strategy matters at the intersection of family and business – often in situations of significant transition. His advisory work focuses in particular on the design of corporate and family governance, including the development of family constitutions, the structuring of supervisory bodies, succession processes, the reorganisation of shareholder groups, and investment and divestment processes.

Prior to joining PETER MAY, he practised at leading law firms, advising numerous family businesses, owner families and family offices on corporate and succession law matters as well as on strategic projects.

Tobias Hueck comes from an entrepreneurial family himself and has many years of experience serving on advisory and supervisory boards of companies and foundations.

He is the author of numerous publications on family businesses, including the first legal monograph on family constitutions, and co-editor of the Journal of Family Business Law (RFamU).

His guiding principle is:

“"Family businesses are the most sustainable form of enterprise – provided that the owner family exercises its influence professionally while preserving the personal and respectful approach that is characteristic of family businesses. We help fine-tune the structures and mechanisms required to make this work across generations."
