Katja Portz

After studying economics at the University of Bayreuth, she completed her doctorate at the Chair of International Management on the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility. She then worked for several years at PwC, most recently as a manager and owner strategy consultant in the Family Governance Consulting division. Already there, she specialised in the conception of supervisory and advisory boards in family businesses. She worked closely with the INTES Academy for Family Businesses, among other things as a speaker or in the training of advisory board members.

Since January 2022, she has been working as a owner strategy consultant for PETER MAY Family Business Consulting and the PETER MAY Board Services division in the placement of advisory boards, supervisory boards and boards of directors.

Her guiding principle: “Every family business is different because the owner families behind it are unique. An advisory board only adds value if the right board members are found. They have to fit the owner family and the culture of the family business. Only then can they act as sparring partners at eye level and provide real added value.“
