Gerold Rieder

After completing his commercial apprenticeship and studies, Gerold Rieder spent several years at USW in Schloss Gracht near Cologne, which was at that time a cadre training centre for the top management of German companies.

In 1998, he joined Peter May in founding INTES as his co-partner, thus committing himself to the topic of family businesses and from then on establishing and expanding the INTES Academy for Family Businesses. As the only founding partner, he remained with the company as Managing Director after INTES was sold to PwC in 2013.

In addition to his responsibility for the entire training and education business of INTES, Gerold Rieder focused his personal passion with increasing intensity on the topic of “advisory boards in family businesses”. In particular, over the years he and his colleague of many years, Sabine Strick, built up an extensive network of entrepreneurs and managing directors in family businesses, on the basis of which he now regularly and successfully mediates advisory boards, supervisory boards and administrative boards.

In January 2022, Gerold Rieder left INTES and joined the PETER MAY Group to set up the newly founded PETER MAY Board Services division together with Sabine Strick.

His guiding principle: “Advisory boards are only as good as their members! We connect you with the right entrepreneurs and managing directors with family business experience, who are available to you as sparring partners at eye level.”
